Hong Oo Baak is a senior partner in the Seoul office of BAAK JANG & PARK. Mr. Baak is a fomer judge of Seoul District Court. He is admitted to the bars of Korea and the State of New York, U.S.A. He is also registered to practice before the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Mr. Baak received his LL.B degree, cum laude, from Seoul National University College of Law and his LL.M. degree from University of Washington School of Law. 

When he was a sophomore at SNU in 1972, he passed the Judicial Examination of Korea as the youngest of all. In 1974, he finished the two year course of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, where he was awarded the Korean Bar Association President's Prize. After serving as judge of Seoul District Court, he entered into practice in 1981. Mr. Baak's practice focuses on intellectual property, business transactions, corporate, and litigation & arbitration. Mr. Baak has represented both domestic and international clients in a broad range of intellectual property and information technology matters, corporate matters, international business transactions, and commercial real estate and construction transactions. 

Mr. Baak is an arbitrator on the Arbitrators Panel of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. He has served as director of the Korean Arbitrators' Association, Korea International Trade Law Association, and the International Association of Korean Lawyers. Mr. Baak was an adjunct Professor at Kyungwon University where he taught commercial law and civil procedure, and an adjunct Professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute of Korea where passers of Korean Judicial Examination have to be taught before they are licensed to become a judge, a prosecutor, or a lawyer. He is currently an adjunct professor at Youngsan University Graduate School of Legal Affairs where he teaches international contracts.

Mr. Baak is a member of the Korean Bar Association, the Seoul Bar Association, the Korean Patent Attorneys' Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea, and the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
